Ledgers, 1833-1854.

Seven ledgers, 1833-1854, recording sales, imports, commission accounts, shipping accounts, insurance, loans, freight and other expenses, etc. The firm, owned by George and Anthony Barclay and Schuyler Livingston, had accounts with hundreds of merchants in Europe, South America, the West Indies, Nova Scotia, Canada, the U.S., and perhaps elsewhere. Included are more frequent accounts with Capt. John Deming, Melhuish Gray & Co., Robertson & Mackie, B. Ingham & Co., Susan Barclay, and the partners themselves.
